If you want a good reference book, I recommend Canfields’s:
If your interest is more focused on shooting and competition, you will be better off with Campbell’s work:
However, if you really want to have everything, Brophy’s book is only $10 more (and actually less, if you buy a used copy) than Canfield and has pretty much everything conceivable about the Springfield:

My recommendation is definitely Brophy’s book. If you are after the technical and historical facts, you will not be disappointed.
